January Is for Brides

With 40% of brides receiving marriage proposals over the holidays, January is the leading month for beginning wedding planning.  The wedding industry recognizes this fact, therefore offering bridal expos, fairs, and shows all over the U.S.   These events extend through March and start again in late fall.

We, at Pamela’s Event Design, participate in these events.  Our primary goal, aside from the opportunity to meet with prospective clients, is to display the current trends and colors for wedding flowers and décor.

For 2009, yellow is everywhere!  You will find it in every bridal magazine.  Vibrant colors like orange, bright pink and green are making a comeback.  Themes like Orange Crush, Good Fortune,  or Disney Dream.

For our January show, we decided to go with a pink, black, and white theme, which is classic and never goes out of style.  As you can see, the styles of the two tables are completely different.  The lighter pink is more traditional, while the black and pink table is contemporary.

These incredible linens were provided by White Table, and the place settings and chivalry chairs were rented from Celebrate Party Rental.  You can see, by the pictures, how much linens contribute to the look we wanted to achieve.  In our opinion, linens have the most impact in the look of your reception.

What colors are you using for your wedding?  We want to know.

  1. I used pink and black the first time and red and white the second time. I LOVED the red and white. It was HOT–just like our wedding night!🙂

  2. I never thought of back as a choice for a wedding color, but now that I’ve seen your pink and black theme, I love it!

My first wedding was very Victorian in style with lots of ivory and blue and lace.

The second one was pink and white (and I’m not even sure why since I’m not much of a pink person. My daughter wanted to wear her little white eyelet dress with the pink sash and I think we just went with it!).
